unpredictable beauty no.2
In the real world, various objects are affected by changes over time and the characteristics of materials, and are sometimes reborn into output with an elegance that humans could not have intended.

The nuances created by chance by nature are so majestic and have a beauty that transcends human imagination.
I value the "unpredictable beauty" that nature brings and incorporate it into my works.

The works in the "unpredictable beauty'' series are made from wrinkled paper and cloth. It is carefully designed and finished digitally.

Delicate and complicated creases can never be reproduced, nor can they be created on purpose.
Such unpredictability, like change over time, brings out the beauty.

This work has its roots in the ancient Japanese aesthetic sense of wabi-sabi, and is a work that reinterprets and expresses the aesthetic sense that Japanese people have valued since ancient times.
Title: unpredictable beauty "Lisa Gherardini"

This is another face of the Mona Lisa, one of the most famous paintings in the world.
I was looking for a way to express a new Mona Lisa.
However, the aim was to create a new Mona Lisa based on the original painting itself.
This is because, of course, if you create something with the theme of Mona Lisa'', you can easily express a newMona Lisa'' (regardless of whether it's good or bad).
However, that would make her seem like a different person, similar to the Mona Lisa.
Also, there are so many designs these days that put another layer on top of the original image, and personally I don't find it interesting as a challenge.
Anyway, by pursuing expression using the original painting itself,
I want to bring out "another side of the original picture."
That's why I was constantly working through trial and error while working with paintings printed on paper.
I decided to make a physical change to the paper itself,
As I was rolling up and unfolding the paper on which the original drawing was printed, I happened to come across a look that struck me.
The unevenness and shadows created by the folds of the paper changed the expression of the Mona Lisa.
That is what this work is about.
This is a completely different side of the woman depicted in the well-known painting.
It was not created from scratch, but was definitely drawn from the original painting.
It is also a product of chance that will never be able to be recreated again.
And the title is not the well-known "Mona Lisa", but
She took her real name, Lisa Gherardini.

Title: unpredictable beauty "roots"

No two people are the same.
However, if we trace our roots back, I think all humans come from the same origin.
The roots are deep underground and do not come to the surface.
That's why sometimes we forget that we have the same roots, and we get into conflict based on superficial differences and get into silly fights.
We want to respect each other as human beings. I want you to feel the invisible roots.
I created this work with these thoughts in mind.
Title: unpredictable beauty "spectrum"

When sunlight hits an object, an infinite array of colors spreads out.
Life, like the spectrum of light, has as many colors as there are people.
Life is filled with infinite colors, and there is probably a color that suits each person best.
